
#9 Tampa Cruises Past Rollins
TAMPA, Fla. - The ninth ranked University of Tampa Spartans (23-4, 10-3) volleyball team took down SSC opponent Rollins College (17-17, 2-11) 3-0 by scores of 25-21, 25-17, 26-24.
The UT offense was led by sophomore Melissa Vanderhall with 12 kills and senior Annalea Warren 11. Camille Hanks turned in a career high performance with nine kills and a .667 hitting percentage. Senior Danielle MacDonald contributed with eight kills as the Spartans finished with 51 kills overall.
Tampa's defense saw only one Spartan register double figures in digs as Senior Camila Saade had 11. Seven other Spartans recorded a dig including Meghan Sherman who tied her season high with nine. Sherman, who split duties at setter with Gabriela Saade, had 17 assists. Saade finished with a team high of 24 assists.
The Spartans were able to hold the Tars to only a .218 hitting percentage while UT finished with .355. Each team committed 13 errors.
Tampa will be back in action tomorrow afternoon for Senior Day
