Berkley Whaley Collects Another SSC Player of the Week Award
WINTER PARK, Fla. - Tampa's Berkley Whaley and Eckerd's Katarina Milojevic have been selected Sunshine State Conference Volleyball Players of the Week presented by VALIC.
Whaley, a sophomore outside hitter from St. Petersburg, Fla., recorded 21 kills with no errors, while hitting .538 percent with two service aces, four digs and three blocks in a 3-0 victory over Rollins to secure No. 2 Tampa the outright SSC Championship. More impressively, Whaley recorded 24.5 points in the win to rank second all-time in program history in points in a three-set match. Against Florida Southern, she recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs, while recording two more blocks. Whaley finished the week averaging 5.33 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .444.
This is Whaley's fifth SSC Player of the Week award for the season as the 2013 SSC champs have had a total of 11 weekly honors as Meagan Burke and Jessica Wagner have also collected multiple awards.
