Spartans Spook Tars in Halloween Match Up

TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 5 University of Tampa volleyball team defeated Rollins College Saturday afternoon by a final score of 3-1.
The victory improves the Spartans record to 20-4 overall and moves them to 9-1 in SSC play. The Tars fall to 8-15 and 4-7 in conference play.
Seniors Jessica Wagner and Marissa Lisenbee led the charge as they collected 15 and 10 kills respectively. Wagner swung at a .375 mark and she had her hand on nine total blocks. Lisenbee added 11 digs on the day.
Junior Allee Stelogeannis contributed with seven kills and added 20 digs for UT. Senior Gina Clark served as a catalyst, as she dished out 38 assists. Demery Zachery also chimed in with six kills and two blocks. Megan Heffron recorded seven kills of her own for the Spartans.
The Spartan defense was potent as they held the Tars to a minuscule .042 hitting percentage, while collecting 12 total team blocks.
Tampa will be back in action on Tuesday, as the travel to St. Petersburg to take on the Eckerd College Triton.
