
Stelogeannis Secures Second SSC Player of the Week Award
Outside hitter Allee Stelogeannis takes home her second Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading UT to a sweep of conference foe Lynn.
MELBOURNE, Fla. – For the second time this season, senior Allee Stelogeannis earned Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week as the University of Tampa volleyball team swept Lynn in consecutive sets. The outside hitter posted 16 kills at a .500 attack percentage to garner the accolade, as announced Monday by the conference office.
Stelogeannis has anchored the Spartan offense in 2016 as she leads the team in kills with 239 through 53 sets of play (4.51 kills per set). The Ocala, Fla. native has a .283 attack percentage through 14 matches as UT sits 10-4 overall with a 4-2 tally in SSC play.
The senior ranks first in the SSC in kills per set with her 4.51 average and is ninth in the conference in attack percentage. Among defensive contributors, Stelogeannis ranks 10th in digs per set and is the only player in the top-10 that is not a libero.
Through 14 games this season, the outside hitter has nine double-doubles and is currently in the midst of her fifth consecutive double-double outing, an active streak.
The award marks the second offensive honor for Stelogeannis, earning the award on Sept. 26 of this year.
Tampa will travel to Orlando, Fla. to compete in the South Region Crossover Tournament hosted by the Sunshine State Conference. Tampa will open play with a 10:00 a.m. contest against Christian Brothers on Friday, Oct. 14. Live stats will be available through www.tampaspartans.com for the entire tournament.
