No. 20 Spartans Set to Host Nova Southeastern
The No. 20 Spartans meet Nova Southeastern for the first time this season, Friday at 7 p.m. in the Bob Martinez Athletics Center.
TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 20 University of Tampa volleyball team is set to host Nova Southeastern University for a Friday night showdown at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center at 7 p.m.
The Matchup: No. 20 University of Tampa (13-5, 4-3 SSC) vs. Nova Southeastern University (11-8, 3-3 SSC)
• The conference leader in kills per set will meet the Sunshine State Conference's best team at digs per set, as Allee Stelogeannis averages 4.36 kills while Nova Southeastern leads in digs per set with 16.25.

Last Time Out: Tampa suffered a loss to Saint Leo 3-1 in its most recent matchup, recording the Lions third win over the Spartans in the all-time series record. Sophomore Alexandra Misca finished the match with nine kills at a .438 attack percentage while outside hitter Stelogeannis led all Spartans with 14 kills. Setter Sammy Mueller spun a double-double, recording 20 assists and 16 digs.
About the Spartans: Stelogeannis leads the conference in kills per set, averaging 4.36 with 288 total kills. The senior is converting at a respectable .280 attack clip over 18 matches. Junior Molly McAlvany has made her way into the lineup hitting at a .311 attack clip. Middle blocker Misca leads the SSC in attack percentage at .363.
About the Sharks: Senior Jessica Ronyak leads Nova offensively, as the outside hitter has tallied 254 kills. Fellow outside hitter Denver Tyler-Palmer ranks first for the Sharks in kills per set and points per set with 3.76 and 4.15, respectively. Nova Southeastern is first among all SSC teams in digs per set with 16.25. The anchor in the team's defensive prowess is libero Megan Burns who leads all Sharks in digs and digs per set with 414 and 5.11, respectively.
Series History: The Spartans own the all-time series record against Nova Southeastern with an impressive 27-1 overall record. UT has not dropped a contest to the Sharks since its lone loss in the series history, dating back to the 2008 season when NSU bested Tampa in five sets.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
