
Spartans Crack Embry-Riddle in Road Win
Freshman Taylor Fosler blasted nine kills at a torrid .615 attack percentage, adding five blocks as Tampa defeated Embry-Riddle 3-0.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The No. 23 University of Tampa volleyball team used dominating efforts from Allee Stelogeannis and Taylor Fosler to rout Embry Riddle University by a 3-0 score on Saturday in the ICI Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 | Middle blocker Fosler opened play with a strong five kills at a .444 clip, adding two blocks as Tampa ignited early in the set. Senior Stelogeannis added six kills to seal the first set victory behind a 25-17 score. Junior Molly McAlvany held the defense with eight digs while libero Logan Holanchock and setter Jen Aprile added five apiece.
Set 2 | Stelogeannis unloaded a nine-kill rampage in the second set, hitting an even .500 to lead Tampa to a 25-16 set win. Fosler was a perfect 2-for-2 in kills from the middle as UT earned a 2-0 match advantage behind outside hitter Stelogeannis.
Set 3 | Stelogeannis continued to dominate in the closing set of play, swatting six kills in nine swings for a .667 attack clip. Junior Aprile added eight digs on defense while McAlvany and Fosler notched three and two blocks, respectively. The Eagles were unable to combat the Spartan offense, falling 25-21 in the last set as UT clinched the sweep.
INSIDE THE STATS:
• Stelogeannis finished the match with 21 kills at a strong .450 attack. The senior added eight digs and a service ace. Fosler ended with nine kills at a blistering .615 attack percentage while picking up a match-high five blocks.
• Setter Aprile posted a double-double effort, leading the squad with 16 digs and 21 assists.
• Junior McAlvany put in her strongest defensive effort of the season, notching 15 digs and four blocks in the match.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Outside hitter Stelogeannis posted her highest total in kills since the last time the senior faced Embry-Riddle earlier in the season. The Ocala, Fla. native posted 22 kills when UT hosted the Eagles on Sept. 23.
• Outside hitter Molly McAlvany posted a season-high in digs with 15 and blocks with four.
