
UT Welcomes Florida Tech for Senior Day
The Spartans will host the Panthers for a Saturday matinee to honor the accomplishments of their trio of seniors.
TAMPA, Fla. – Coming down to its last pair of home contests, the No. 23 University of Tampa volleyball team will host Florida Tech on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. for its Senior Night festivities. The Spartans will meet the Panthers after a brief pregame ceremony to recognize their senior class.
The Matchup: No. 23 University of Tampa (18-6, 8-3 SSC) vs. Florida Tech (6-17, 0-11 SSC)
• Tampa will meet Florida Tech for the 74th time in the history of the two programs as the two teams met earlier in the year on Sept. 29. The Spartans took a 3-1 victory on the road as sophomore Gen Beaumier led with 12 kills at a .423 attack percentage. Panthers middle blocker Olivia Hersey led for the FIT, notching eight kills with five blocks.
• Libero Logan Holanchock sits 5 digs shy of her 1,000 in her career. The St. Augustine, Fla. native will be just the third Spartan to achieve the feat in her second season of play, dating back to AVCA All-American libero Margeaux Sinibaldi (2004-07) and outside hitter Hilary Epling (1995-98).
• UT will recognize its senior class on Saturday, as they appreciate the accomplishments of Allee Stelogeannis, Leigh Buttner, Ana Maria Pagan and student assistant coach, Cody Liner.

Last Time Out: The Spartans earned a 3-1 win over rival Florida Southern College to avenge their Sept. 27 loss to the Mocs. Tampa used a balanced offensive attack to thwart FSC as four pin hitters recorded double-digit kills. Defensively, UT was led by setter Jen Aprile, as the junior notched a career-high 22 digs.
About the Spartans: Stelogeannis is the offensive leader for the Spartans, recording 358 total kills while adding 306 digs on defense. Right side Katie McKiel ranks second in kills with 228 with Beaumier posting 156 in her sophomore season. Holanchock is UT's top back row defender, notching 389 digs in 24 matches to date.
About the Panthers: Florid Tech fell 3-1 to conference foe Saint Leo on Thursday, losing its 11th SSC bout this season. FIT turns to middle hitter Olivia Hersey to pace the offense, totaling 209 kills while adding 79 blocks. Libero Becca Bower has amassed 386 digs in 81 sets played to anchor the back row for Florida Tech.
Series History: Tampa owns a pristine 73-0 record against the Panthers in the all-time series. The Spartans defeated FIT on the road earlier in the season by a 3-1 score.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
