
Spartans Soar Past Eagles in Clean Sweep
Tampa Volleyball sweeps the Embry-Riddle Eagles three sets to zero.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa Spartans soar past the Embry-Riddle Eagles in three sets, with scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-20. The Spartans move to 9-7 in the SSC, while the Eagles fall to 8-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 | Tampa took the first set 25-19. The Spartans came out to a fast start and setter Sammy Mueller did a good job of getting multiple hitters involved early in the match. The offensive efforts were led by outside hitter Nicole Dominguez with four kills followed by the middle duo of Alexandra Misca and Taylor Fosler who each had three. Fosler also held the team-high kill percentage of .750 in the first. Kaitlyn Ajmani started as UT's libero, picking up five digs while Mueller ended the set with 14 assists.
Set 2 | In the second game, Tampa continued to dominate on the court. Once again Mueller did a nice job distributing the ball to multiple attackers. Dominguez added four kills to her stats followed by Fosler with three. Additionally, freshmen pin hitters Nylah Demps and Sorrel Houghton each earned three. Mueller stated 14 additional assists in the second, and Ajmani continued to lead the team on defense picking up seven digs. Also during the second set, the Spartans aced the Eagles on five different occasions. Senior Shelby Joslin was awarded two of the team's service aces. Tampa won set two, 25-18.
Set 3 | Following intermission, the Spartans came out of the locker room picking up right where they left off. It was the same story, different set for UT with Dominguez and Fosler dominating Tampa's offense, each with five kills. Demps and Houghton recorded three more kills apiece, while libero, Ajmani, stated three more digs. Mueller added 15 assists in the game, ending the match with 43. The Spartans swept the Eagles with a final set score of 25-20.

• Sammy Mueller stated her sixth double-double of the season, with 43 assists and 10 digs.

• Tampa leads the all-time series against Embry-Riddle 7-0.
