Spartans Out Battle the Knights 3-0

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 8 University of Tampa Spartans swept the Lynn University Fighting Knights by set scores of 25-18, 25-12, and 25-20. Now 7-0 in the SSC, the Spartans remain the only team undefeated in conference competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Sammy Mueller did a nice job at distributing the ball to multiple attackers. The junior ended the match with 26 assists and six digs. Offensively, Katie McKiel powered the Spartans offense with nine kills at a .200 hitting percentage. Following McKiel's efforts were those of Sorrel Houghton, Melissa Elias, and Taylor Fosler. Houghton ended the match with 8 kills hitting .286, while Elias had Fosler both had seven. McKiel and Claudia Rivera led the Spartans defensively, each with 11 digs.

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Katie McKiel led the Spartans in kills for the night with a total of 9. She also led the team in digs with 11.

• Claudia Rivera also led the Spartans in digs with 11.

• Sammy Mueller recorded a total of 26 assists.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
Tampa leads the all-time series against the Fighting Knights 42-3.
