McKiel Rewarded as SSC Player of Week After Crossover

TAMPA, Fla. – Junior outside hitter Katie McKiel has been named Sunshine State Conference player of the week. This is following an impressive weekend in which McKiel led the Spartans to a perfect 3-0 record in the Gulf South/Sunshine State Conference Crossover.

In the game against West Georgia, McKiel recorded a double-double as she recorded 10 kills and added 14 digs. Against Auburn-Montgomery, McKiel had 14 kills and added nine digs in the match. For the weekend, she averaged a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs per game.

This marks McKiel's third player of the week award this season. McKiel and the Spartans will be back in action this week as they travel to Saint Leo on Tuesday, and welcome Rollins in on Thursday. Both games are set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
