
Tampa wins 10th Straight Game
Boca Raton, FL – The No. 9 ranked University of Tampa Volleyball team extends its win streak to double figures with a four set win over Lynn.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: The Spartans jumped out to an early lead in set one, great defense led to a powerful offensive attack that Lynn could not answer. Kalli Cors spearheaded the Tampa attack with the help of setters Melissa Elias and Emily Noe, and the Spartans closed the first set by a score of 25-15. || 1-0 UT leads
Second Set: Lynn flipped the script on the Spartans in the second set. Utilizing a 7-1 run, the Fighting Knights jumped out to an early 12-7 lead. The Spartans continued to battle throughout the set but could never close the gap. Lynn took the second set, 25-20. || 1-1 Tie
Third Set: The third set began as a back-and-forth battle between the two sides, but midway through the set Tampa began to pull away. Back-to-back blocks from middle blocker Taylor Fosler and outside hitter Sorrel Houghton sparked a 7-1 run for the Spartans who would close out the second third set by a score of 25-16. || 2-1 UT Leads
Fourth Set: The back-and-forth competition continued into the fourth set. Setters Melissa Elias and Emily Noe showcased their talent and prompted a hitting onslaught as the Spartans began to pull away mid-way through the set. Tampa would tally a .326 hitting percentage in the fourth set and would finish of the Fighting Knights by a score of 25-20. || 3-1 UT Wins
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Rivera continued her streak of consecutive double-digit digs to 11 matches as she recorded 14 in tonight's matchup.
- Elias records her 5th game with at least 10 kills and 20 assists.
- Cors recorded a season high 20 kills leading the team.
