
No. 12 Tampa Rolls Past Rollins
WINTER PARK, Fla. – The No. 12 ranked University of Tampa volleyball team cruised to a straight sets win against Rollins Saturday night at Warden Arena. The Spartan's win is their 16th of the season and moves them into first place in the Sunshine State Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: Rollins and Tampa kept it close in the early showing, with the Tars pulling within two (7-5) after going down 4-2 to begin the set. The Spartans went on a 12-4 run and took a commanding 19-9 lead. Tampa Breezed to a 25-12 set win. Melissa Elias and Emily Noe ran the Spartan attack and registered six and nine assists in the opening set, respectively. Katie McKiel led the Spartans with three kills. Score: 1-0 Tampa
Second Set: The Spartans continued to march in the second set after another episode of trading points (5-5 in the early going) to begin the set. Tampa again mounted another large run, were the first to 15, and raced out to a 16-9 lead. The second set was the smallest margin of victory for the Spartans in the match, 25-18. Kalli Cors paced the Spartans attack with five kills in the set. Elias and Noe once again orchestrated Tampa's attack with eight and six assists each. Score: 2-0 Tampa
Third Set: Tampa rolled in the final set and never looked back. The Spartans started the set with a 9-3 run and captured a clean sweep with a 25-12 third set win. Hayley Dillon had four kills. Final: 3-0 Tampa
INSIDE THE STATS:
- UT enjoyed a balanced attack, as six Spartans had four or more kills: McKiel (7), Cors (7), Sorrel Houghton (6), Taylor Fosler (5), Elias (4), and Dillon (4).
- Elias (17) and Noe (13) combined for 30 assists.
- Three Spartans had 10 or more digs: JJ Ramirez (13), Elias (11), and Claudia Rivera (11).
UP NEXT: The Spartans enter play at the South Region Crossover in Winter Haven, Fla., on Friday and Saturday October 22 and 23.
