Rivera Wins SSC Defensive Player of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Claudia Rivera secures her sixth career Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honor. 

Rivera wins Defensive Player of the Week as Tampa opened SSC play with two wins. The Gurabo, Puerto Rico native, tied the Spartans' record of 27 digs in a three-set match during a win against Florida Southern. She followed with 13 digs in a sweep of Eckerd. Rivera also provided her team with 5.0 assists per set to go along with her 6.67 digs per set across the two matches. The weekly award is the sixth of her career.
