HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: The Spartans fell behind 3-0 early, but eventually tied it up. Tess Schrenger had a big first set and the Spartans went on a couple of runs. Back-to-back aces from Claudia Rivera wrapped up the first set in favor of the Spartans. Score: 1-0 Tampa
Second Set: The Spartans started the set on a 9-3 run mainly on errors by the Tars. The Tars made it a game and got within five, but it was too little too late. Tampa won the second set comfortably. Score: 2-0 Tampa
Third Set: JJ Ramirez started at libero in the final set. Another hot start from the Spartans, they opened on a 10-3 run. The Spartans closed out the set on another big run – finishing it up on a 11-3 run. FINAL: 3-0 Tampa
