
Spartans Complete Comeback in Third Set Against Florida Tech
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The top-ranked Spartans complete a comeback in the third set to extend their win streak on the road against Florida Tech.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: The game started with Florida Tech getting on the board first. Their lead didn't last long with Tampa catching up and getting out front early. From there, Tampa went on a 13-0 run keeping the lead the rest of the set. Tampa's defense was felt being led by Mackenzie Dufresne who assisted on four blocks with three different Spartans. After a kill by Tess Schrenger, Tampa captures the win in the first set. Score: 25-12 (Tampa)
Second Set: The second set started with back and forth scoring with Florida Tech taking the lead. Florida Tech carried their momentum through majority of this set, until Tampa came from behind reclaiming their lead. Tampa continued sticking to the plan, going for every loose ball before going on a 5-0 run. Tatyana Lyons closes the set with a powerful kill helping Tampa secure the win. Tampa finished with 19 kills with Schrenger leading the way with five. Score: 25-20 (Tampa)
Third Set: The energy was high with Tampa looking to close out the game. They found themselves behind early with Florida Tech dominating the bulk of the set. Lyons led the defense with two solo blocks while Kalli Cors hit a wicked kill attempting to help her team retrieve the lead. The set was close the entire time. With a few errors by Florida Tech it put Tampa in close range to complete their comeback, tying the game at 22. Tampa then went on a 6-0 run to close the set completing a huge rally extending their win streak on the road. Dufresne completed a big kill making it match point, with Schrenger closing the set once again with one of many authoritative kills for the day. Score: 25-22 (Tampa)
