WEEKEND PREVIEW: #4 Spartans Head to Alabama for the South Region Crossover

WEEK 7

#4 Tampa

• Kalli Cors leads the Spartans in kills per set with 3.12 and also leads the team with a total of 153. Tess Schrenger and Mackenzie Dufresne are tied in second with 111 kills and Nathaly Perez right behind them with 110. As a team, the Spartans are averaging 2.44 blocks per set. Claudia Rivera still leads the squad with a total of 258 digs.

Montevallo

• Enters the weekend at 15-6, and have won three in a row. Earlier in the season they played conference foe Saint Leo in Cleveland, Tenn., where they beat the Lions 3-0. Dishman for the Falcons won Gulf South Conference player of the week with 43 kills and hitting at a .343 clip.

Shorter

• The Hawks are 10-11 on their 2022 campaign. Last time out, they beat Fort Valley State University 3-0 on the road. Glover leads the team in kills with a total of 165. 

 Union (Tenn.)

• The last match of the weekend is against the 15-5 Bulldogs. Last weekend, they lost to Montevallo in five sets for their first GSC loss of the year. Calhoon leads the Bulldogs with 199 kills and Sample also leads with 294 digs.
