Spartans Sweep Shorter in First Game of DH
HOOVER, Ala. – Top-ranked Spartans continue their stellar performance at the South Region Crossover Tournament with another three set sweep against Shorter University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: The Spartans started the game with an aggressive 7-2 start before Shorter head coach Naomi Posada Sullivan called a timeout. Kallie Cors kept the intensity going for the Spartans with five kills in the set. Mackenzie Dufresne's aces helped the Spartans maintain control during the set. Score: 25-16 (Tampa)
Second Set: The Spartans sprinted out dominating the court with a series of aces served by Kors which led to a quick 7-0 start. Jenna Vaske would make an impact for the Spartans with a few consecutive kills and good defensive effort to increase the lead to 13 (17-4). Then, Shorter retaliated with a short run until the Spartans scored their 20th point with Shorter still in single digits. Shorter tried again to make a comeback, but the Spartans shortly closed the set on top. Score: 25-17 (Tampa)
Third Set: Shorter's unforced errors to start the set, allowed Tampa to take advantage of the given opportunity with a 10-3 start. The streak would continue for the Spartans as they closed the set on a 15-11 run. Score: 25-13 (Tampa)
