Spartans Drop Down in AVCA Coaches' Poll

WEEK 8

The South Region Crossover all-tournament team has been announced: 

Diana Akopova (Barry); Marija Borcic (Barry); Cameron Gilleland (Embry-Riddle); Kari Bogen (Florida Tech); Katie Erdmann (Florida Tech); Paige Barash (Lynn); Emily Edwards (Lynn); Nadia Lindner (Lynn); Lydia Paulette (Mississippi College); Emma Begley (Rollins); Kassandra Fairly (Spring Hill); Mackenzie Dufrense (Tampa); Claudia Rivera (Tampa); Jenna Zydlo (West Florida) 

Mackenzie Dufresne - Played in all 19 games, 148 kills, 2.28 K/S, with .474 hitting percentage (which is second in division II volleyball).

Claudia Rivera - Played in all 19 games, 342 digs, 5.43 D/S (which is tenth in division II volleyball), and 76 assists.

#8 Tampa

  • With the loss to Eckerd in St. Petersburg last week, the Spartans slide four spots in the most recent AVCA poll. 

Nova Southeastern

  • Enter the weekend at 12-7 and 5-4 in the Sunshine State Conference. The Sharks have lost their last two of three from the South Region Crossover against West Florida and Mississippi College.

Lynn

  • The Fighting Knights are 15-3 and 7-2 in the Sunshine State Conference. The last time they lost was against the Spartans on Sept. 16 in Boca Raton. The Fighting Knights play this Tuesday and Friday before they play the Spartans on Saturday.
