No. 8 Spartans Return to SSC Action with a Victory

TAMPA, Fla. – The Spartans secure another victory against the Sharks on Breast Cancer Awareness night.

Records: No. 8 Tampa (18-2, 8-2 SSC) , Nova Southeastern (12-9, 5-6 SSC)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

First Set: The Sharks started it out with back-to-back aces from Green. It was a back and forth first set with the Spartans getting a couple three point runs that finally got them clear of the Sharks. Tess Schrenger had four kills and Hayley Dillon hit three for four and led the Spartans to a first set victory. Score: 25-20 Tampa

Second Set: The Spartans dominated in the second set, getting everyone involved. The Spartans hit at a .565 clip against the Sharks in the set with 13 kills as a team. Score: 25-10 Tampa

Third Set: A slow start out of the gates for the Spartans. After the first eight points, Tampa finally hit their stride going on a three point run. Another big six point run extended their lead to 18-9 and the Spartans finish them off on a 7-1 run. Score: 25-11 Tampa

 

INSIDE THE STATS: 

  • Nathaly Perez went 13-for-22 with 3 blocks.
  • Zoey Seput had 17 total assists with 12 digs.
  • Dillon hit at a .714 clip.
