HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: The game started with Tampa finding themselves behind early. Errors by both teams slowed the pace of the set. Two kills by Tess Schrenger and Jenna Vaske helped close the gap for Tampa. They then went on a 5-0 run typing it at 11. A bad set by Rollins gave Tampa their first lead of the night. It was a close matchup with Tampa's defense showing up big time finishing with two blocks. Tampa went on another run before closing out the set with an assisted block from Tatyana Lyons. Score: 25-20 (Tampa)
Second Set: Tampa got out early in the second set. Lyons found the sweet spots of the defense knocking the ball over the net extending their lead. Tampa slowly pulled away with Kalli Cors helping anyway she could from the serving line and her various kills from the night. The set ended with a kill from Meghan Schreck putting Tampa up two sets to none. Score: 25-14 (Tampa)
Third Set: Rollins started the scoring this set. A few errors from Tampa extended their lead as Rollins looked to snag one set. Tampa found themselves crawling from behind again but finally tied at 18 after an assisted block from Vaske and Jenna Davis before going on a 3-0 run. Every point from there on out was matched, with 10 ties to end the set. Rollins found the soft spots of Tampa's defense putting them one step closer to accomplishing their goal. After a blocking error from Schreck, Tampa falls to Rollins in the third set. Score: 25-23 (Rollins)
Fourth Set: Tampa started the set in dominate fashion, going up 3-0 early. They maintained the lead with three powerful kills from Mackenzie Dufresne. Tampa had great control this set, causing Rollins to make simple mistakes. A solo block from Lyons solidified Tampa's lead and adds to her 59 blocks on the season. Despite Tampa's lead, Rollins didn't make it easy on them. Lyons showed up once again with a sneaky kill closing out the fourth set helping Tampa bring home a win. Score: 25-17 (Tampa)
