HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: The Spartans started on a seven point run before the Sailfish got their first point. Tampa kept their foot on the gas pedal increasing their lead to 16-4, and then the Sailfish went on a six point run to cut the lead to six. PBA clawed their way back into the set and it was all tied at 23 a piece. A kill by Alicia Kowalski gave the Spartans the 24-23 lead, but the Sailfish answered and tied it right back up. Back-to-back errors from the Sailfish one being a service and the other being an attacking error gave the Spartans the first set. Score: 26-24 Tampa
Second Set: After the first 13 points of the set, the Spartans found themselves up 11-2. The Sailfish didn't go away as they cut the Spartans' lead down to five as the score was 16-9. The Spartans cruised to another set win. Score: 25-16 Tampa
Third Set: The Sailfish took the first two points, but the Spartans answered with back-to-back kills from Mackenzie Dufresne and Kalli Cors. It was tied 7-7, and the Spartans went on a three point run. Then Tampa really started to put their imprint on the set. Two kills from Dufresne helped them on another five point run to extend their lead to 21-13. The Sailfish made it interesting with a late push to 24-19, but it wasn't enough and the Spartans take the sweep back home.
