WEEKEND PREVIEW: No. 6 Spartans Set to Finish Regular Season at Home

Senior Night

• Prior to Saturday's match against the Lions, the No. 6 Spartans with honor their seniors. The following seniors will be honored during Saturday's ceremony: Tatyana Lyons, Claudia Rivera, and Chelsea Simmons. 

#6 Tampa

• The Spartans move back down to #6 in the AVCA Coaches' Poll, following Friday's loss to Barry. They currently sit second in the Sunshine State Conference behind Barry who is 15-2 in conference play, as the Spartans are one game back from the top spot. Mackenzie Dufresne is still in the top five in hitting percentage, sitting third with a .448 percentage. Kalli Cors leads the squad in total points with 350.5, averaging 3.04 kills per set.

#16 Barry

• A rematch of Friday's loss to the Buccaneers is set for this Friday at 7 p.m. This has major implications on postseason play for both programs. For the Buccaneers, Diana Akopova had 42 of Barry's 77 total kills against the Spartans last Friday. Akopova also leads the team with 456 total kills with three games left in the regular season.

Saint Leo

• Saturday's match against the Lions is Senior Night for the Spartans. The Lions enter the weekend 5-13 in SSC play, and are coming off a win against Nova Southeastern that went five sets in Fort Lauderdale.

Florida Tech

• This match against the Panthers is a makeup from the week that was postponed due to Hurricane Ian. Florida Tech is currently 5-12 in SSC play. Katie Erdmann leads the Panthers with 4.17 kills per set.
