HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: Three early kills from Nathaly Perez puts Tampa in front early in the first set. Tampa then got distance being up 14-5 at one point. Tampa's dominance forced Florida Tech to take a timeout, but still maintained their lead out of the timeout. Tampa found themselves four points away from taking the first set after a kill from Perez. An attack error from Florida Tech then a service ace by Tess Schrenger closes out the first set putting Tampa up 1-0. Score: 25-15 (Tampa)
Second Set: The second set started with the first three points being matched. An assisted block from Perez and Tatyana Lyons helps Tampa take the first lead of the set. Another solo block from Mackenzie Dufresne puts Tampa up 5-3. A powerful kill from Dufresne sparks energy into Tampa's offense as they look to take the second set. Tampa's defense did their job protecting the net with Lyons assisting on another block with Perez. Tampa was leading by as many as 12 points, but Florida Tech continued creeping from behind chipping away at Tampa's lead. Despite this, another assisted block from Lyons and Perez closes out the second set. Score: 25-21 (Tampa)
Third Set: The first eight points of the set with matched by each team. Tampa looked for some distance being up 14-11 in the middle of the third set. A powerful kill from Jenna Vaske increases Tampa's lead. A few sly kills from Florida Tech puts Tampa's lead at jeopardy putting the score at 21-20. After a timeout taken by Tampa, they came back recharged with the mission of closing out the third set. Two kills from Jenna Davis and Vaske put Tampa at match point. The set ends with a kill from Claudia Rivera helping her team take their third win of the weekend. Score: 25-21 (Tampa)
