
Spartans Set to Host South Region in NCAA Tournament
TAMPA, Fla. -- The Spartans claimed the top spot in the region with three wins over the weekend. Here is how the first round matchups shake out:

No. 1 Tampa (27-3) vs. No. 8 Spring Hill (29-7) -- Nov. 18 at 7:30 PM
No. 2 Lynn (23-5) vs. No. 7 Florida Southern (15-14) -- Nov. 18 at 2:30 PM
No. 3 Barry (25-5) vs. No. 6 Nova Southeastern (19-11) -- Nov. 18 at 12 PM
No. 4 Eckerd (24-6) vs. No. 5 West Florida (27-5) -- Nov. 18 at 5:00 PM
Tampa
- This marks the 26th consecutive NCAA tournament made in program history, dating all the way back to 1996. The last time the Spartans played host at the regionals was in 2014, where they went on to win the National Championship against Southwest Minnesota State in Louisville, Ky. The Spartans in the postseason at home, have won 21 straight matches. Which means, the Spartans haven't lost in the NCAA tournament at the Bob Martinez Center since 2008 where they lost to West Florida 3-0. Under head coach Chris Catanach, the Spartans are 80-31 in NCAA tournament play.
