JJ Ramirez Selected as SSC Player of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa volleyball player JJ Ramirez has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career as announced by the league office this afternoon.

Ramirez is selected as the Defensive Player of the Week for her play in Tampa's SSC-opening victories at Eckerd and Florida Southern. The Fleming Island, Florida, product opened the week with a game-high 18 digs and three assists in a sweep against Eckerd. She followed with a match-high 19 digs and six assists in a 3-0 win at Florida Southern. For the week, Ramirez averaged 6.17 digs and 1.50 assists per set.
