HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: The Spartans put together four straight points after the Tars scored the opening point. Maintaining a steady lead throughout the match, Tampa, up 7-5, gave themselves a comfortable lead following another 4-0 run, which signaled a timeout from Rollins' coach, Mika Robinson. Despite the Tars scoring 3 straight points following the timeout, the Spartans responded with a 5-1 run of their own, which put the set at 18-10. The 8-point lead for the Spartans was enough room to close out the set, with the last two points for Tampa coming from Kalli Cors back-to-back kills. | Score: 25-17 (Tampa)
Second Set: The Spartans came out on fire to open the second set. After a service error from Rollins, Cors had five straight service aces to open up with a 6-0 lead for the Spartans. Rollins would cut the Spartans lead to 11-9. Cors continued to dominate at the net with four points of the Spartans 6-1 scoring run. After some back-and-forth points, the score 17-12, Tampa went on a 7-2 run, and Jenna Vaske closed out the set with the Spartan's last two points. | Score: 25-15 (Tampa)
Third Set: The Spartans received the first three points of the set. The Tars would keep the lead by three at the start of the third set. After the Tars scored a point to make it 9-6 in favor of Tampa, the Spartans would go on a 7-1 run, for a score of 16-7. The lead was way too large for the Tars to get back in the set, and Rachel Gregg would close out the match with her 3rd kill. | Score: 25-18 (Tampa)
