JJ Ramirez Earns SSC Player of the Week Accolades
TAMPA, Fla. - JJ Ramirez has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season following her standout performances last week. Ramirez and the No. 3 ranked Spartans defeated SSC foes, Rollins College and Florida Institute of Technology at home this past weekend and were crowned SSC Champions.
Ramirez earns a third Defensive Player of the Week accolade in 2023 for her role in Tampa's wins over Rollins and Florida Tech. The libero from Fleming Island, Florida, began the week with a match-high 19 digs in a sweep of the Tars. She followed with a match-high 24 digs in a four-set win against the Panthers. Ramirez averaged 6.3 digs per match last week and added three aces and six assists to her stat sheet.
