Dufresne tabbed CSC First Team Academic All-American
AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) have announced the 2023 Academic All-America® women's volleyball teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA, recognizing University of Tampa student-athlete Mackenzie Dufresne as an Academic All-American.
A graduate student from Tarpon Springs, Fla., Dufresne is in her fifth year at UT and carries a perfect 4.0 GPA. She is pursuing a criminology and criminal justice degree at UT.
She has also excelled on the court for the Spartans, having been named as an AVCA First Team All-American among other accolades this past season. Dufresne would also help guide Tampa to an appearance in the NCAA final four this season.
Dufresne becomes the first volleyball student-athlete since 2015 to earn the honor, and the third to be named a First Team All-American. The University of Tampa volleyball program now has 11 student-athletes recognized as CSC Academic All-Americans.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division II Academic All-America® program.
