Tampa Remains Unbeaten Heading Into SSC Play
Valdosta Ga. – Tampa finishes the weekend 2-0 with a victory over West Florida in 3 straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: After a successful first day, the Spartans were hungry to dominate their last game of the weekend. The Argonauts started off the set with a two-point lead, however, the Spartans tied the score up quickly with a kill by Nathaly Perez. Tampa started to take the lead by three points with a kill by Zoey Seput, at 9-6. The Spartans and Argonauts continued to battle it out a few more points until Head Coach Melissa Wolter used the Argonauts first timeout at 11-8. After the timeout the Spartans earned 7 of the next 9 points, two of which were kills by Rachel Gregg. At this point West Florida took their second timeout of the set. The Spartans continued to put pressure on the Argonauts earning four of the following six points, two being kills from Tess Schrenger. The Spartans finish out the first set with another kill by Schrenger. | Score: 25-14 Tampa
Second Set: The Spartans began the second set hot with a 4-0 lead. The Argonauts started to fight back, in spite, the Spartans regained their four-point lead with a kill by Mak Carter. Only three of the following nine points were earned by the Spartans, letting the Argonauts close the gap of the score. Of the next four points, three were earned by the Spartans pressuring West Florida to take their first timeout of the set. Post timeout the Spartans regained their four-point lead for the third time of the set, from a block by Carter. For the second time the Argonauts started to close the gap between the score forcing Head Coach Chris Catanach to take Tampa's first timeout of the set at 21-19. Following the timeout Tampa went on to earn the 3 of the next 6 points. Tampa finished the set battling hard. | Score: 25-22 Tampa
Third Set: After a close battle in the second set, the Argonauts came out fighting for the match to go to a fourth set. West Florida earned a four point lead, 6-2, forcing Tampa to take their first timeout of the set. After the timeout the Spartans earned three of the next four points, bridging the gap in the score slowly. Even with two service aces from Schrenger and Hayley Dillon, the Spartans continued to fall behind the Argonauts. After the Argonauts gained their largest lead of five points over the Spartans, Tampa decided to use their second timeout of the set. Following the timeout, the Spartans went on to earn five of the next nine points, putting pressure on West Florida to take their first timeout of the set. Right out of the timeout, Gregg and Perez each earn a kill, and Seput scores a service ace, forcing the Argonauts to use their second timeout. Tampa earned their first lead of the set, 25-24, from a service ace by Cors. Tampa closed out the match in three sets. | Score: 26-24 Tampa
