HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: The Tars started off the set with a two-point lead; however, the Spartans tied the score up quickly with a double-block by Jenna Davis and Nathaly Perez. Tampa began to take the lead by two points after a service error by the Tars to take a 9-7 lead. The Spartans and Tars continued to battle it out for a few more points until Head Coach Chris Catanach used the Spartan's first timeout after going down 17-16. After the timeout, the Spartans earned 9 of the next 15 points, four of which were two kills by both Rachel Gregg and Perez to take the first set. | Score: 25-22 Tampa
Second Set: The Tars started the second set with three straight points; before, the Spartans tied the score up 4-4 after three consecutive errors from the Tars. After back and forth by both teams, the Spartans would give themselves some comfort zone with four straight points to take a 15-12 lead. The Tars Head Coach, Mika Robinson, needed to call a timeout to stop the bleeding. After the timeout the Spartans earned 10 of the next 16 points, three of which were kills by Kalli Cors to take the second set. | Score: 25-18 Tampa
Third Set: After an opening point by the Tars, the Spartans would put four straight points together, including the last two coming from Zoey Seput's assists. Tampa would then expand their lead to 10-5 after back-to-back service aces by Tess Schrenger. The Spartans continued to keep a reasonable lead throughout the third set. The Spartans would end the match, scoring the last six points en route to their first conference win on the season. | Score: 25-14 Tampa
