
No. 13 UTampa heads East for NCAA South Region Tournament
BOCA RATON, FLA. - The Spartans finished their 2024 regular season campaign with a 24-4 record, winning 16 of 20 Sunshine State Conference matches, and nationally ranked at the No. 13 slot. Lynn University captured the SSC title and will thus host the NCAA South Region Tournament. Here is how the first-round matchups shake out:
South Region

No. 1 Lynn (27-3) vs. No. 8 Spring Hill (24-7) -- Dec. 6 at 7:00 PM
No. 2 Barry (23-4) vs. No. 7 Nova Southeastern (20-10) -- Dec. 6 at 1:30 PM
No. 3 Tampa (24-4) vs. No. 6 West Florida (27-5) -- Dec. 6 at 11 AM
No. 4 Embry-Riddle (20-9) vs. No. 5 Florida Tech (20-9) -- Dec. 6 at 4:30 PM
TAMPA
- This marks the 28th consecutive NCAA tournament made in program history, dating back to 1996.
- 4 Spartans earned All-SSC honors: Kalli Cors and Zoey Seput (First Team), Nathaly Perez (Second Team), and Connor Rahn (Third Team).
- Rachel Gregg leads the SSC with a .442 hitting percentage, ranking 6th in the nation.
- Through 99 sets played, Seput leads the conference with 1009 assists.
- The Spartans head into the South Region Tournament as the No. 13 team in the nation.
WEST FLORIDA
- The Argonauts won the Gulf South Conference with a record of 27-5 and a perfect 20-0 against conference opponents.
- West Florida is 6-20 all-time when facing UTampa with their most recent loss coming back in September.
LYNN
- Rounding out the regular season with a 27-3 record, while going 17-2 in conference, the Fighting Knights capture their first SSC title since 2019.
- Lynn's Adam Milewski was named Coach of the Year, while Isabella Gentile and Hope Passerello were named Defensive Player and Setter of the Year, respectively.
- The Fighting Knights head into the South Region Tournament as the No. 14 team in the nation.
BARRY
- Back-to-back SSC Player of the Year, Diana Akopova leads the conference with 5.13 kills per set.
- Freshman of the year, Veronika Eremeeva, joins teammate Akopova on the All-SSC First Team
- The Buccaneers head into the South Region Tournament as the No. 18 team in the nation.
EMBRY-RIDDLE
- Winning 6 of their last 8, the Eagles enter the tournament as the 4th seed with an overall record of 20-9.
- Earning a fourth consecutive All-SSC honor, Jaden McBride was named to the All-SSC first team.
FLORIDA TECH
- This is the first-ever NCAA Regional Tournament appearance for Florida Tech.
- Cordelia Kearns, leading the SSC with 484 kills, is representing the Panthers on the All-SSC First Team.
NOVA SOUTHEASTERN
- Going 11-9 against SSC opponents, the Sharks finished their regular season with an overall record of 20-10, capturing the 7th seed of the NCAA South Region Tournament.
- Leading the SSC with 152 blocks, Olivia Aniol was the lone middle blocker named to the All-SSC First Team.
SPRING HILL
- The Badgers finished with a 24-7 record, including a perfect 19-0 in conference, winning their sixth consecutive Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title.
- With their last loss coming on September 14th, Spring Hill closed out the regular season on a 23-game winning streak.
