
Team Effort Leads Tampa to First Place in Spartan Invite
CLEARWATER, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams continued competition at the sixth-annual Spartan Invite, with both the UT men and women first overall.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Men's Day Two Team Scoring: Tampa 602, Indian River 513.5, Nova Southeastern 397, Saint Leo 182.5, Lenoir-Rhyne 165
Women's Day Two Team Scoring: Tampa 545.5, Nova Southeastern 538, West Florida 322.5, Indian River 205.5, Saint Leo 179.5, Lenoir-Rhyne 68
Location: Doyle Aquatic Center at the Long Center | Clearwater, Fla.
MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- The 200 Yard Freestyle relay made up of Brian Daugherty, Mikael Haugen, Jimmy Senese, and Marvin Slanschek took first with a time of 1:21.02.
- Parker Knollman finished first with a time of 1:37.61 in the 200 Yard Freestyle.
- Hugo Bustamante, Jared Mindek, Vinnie Smith, and Haugen placed third in the 400 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 3:19.25.
WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- Roma Vrijhof was the runner up in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:52.35.
- The 400 Yard Medley Relay with Mady Barnes, Julia Augustsson, Madi Lauger, and Elizaveta Bazarova took second place with a time of 3:43.27.
UP NEXT:
Day three of the Spartan Invite will begin with prelims tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. Finals are slated for 6 p.m. Fans may watch live at TampaSpartans.tv or follow live scoring through the Meet Mobile app.
