Santiago Corredor Sets School, Meet Record as Tampa Remains Atop SSC Leaderboard

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The third day of the 2023 Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships concluded with the University of Tampa men continuing its stay atop the standings while the Spartan women still trail Nova Southeastern University.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL / RESULTS
 
Top Tampa Performances:

• Madysen Barnes finished fourth in the 100 Fly, being timed at 55.02.
• In the men's 100 Fly, Tibor Tistan was the runner-up with a time of 47.75.
• Santiago Corredor established a new meet record and school record as he became the champion of the 400 IM. Corredor's winning time was 3:45.75. Teammate Hayden Curley placed third in the event as he finished in 3:50.84.
• The Women's 200 Free featured a fourth-place finish from Emma Chestang (1:49.56) as Sierra Gillan followed in fifth (1:49.73).
• A trio of Spartans were in the top-five in the Men's 200 Free. Barnabas Fluck was second at 1:36.34, while Santiago Aguilera was fourth (1:37.17) and Caleb Brandon fifth (1:38.00).
• In the Women's 400 Medley Relay, UT was third with Kim McCaffrey, Alli McFarland, Madi Lauger, Tilde Morin finishing at 3:43.09.
• The final event of the night was the Men's 400 Medley Relay. Tampa's Parker Knollman, Jared Mindek, Tibor Tistan and Santiago Aguilera were third at 3:14.16.
