Senior Day Bodes Well for Tampa Swimming
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams wrapped up their regular season with a pair of easy victories over Indian River State College on Friday at the Riseman Aquatics Center.
FINAL SCORES
- Men: No. 3 Tampa 168, Indian River 46
- Women: No. 5 Tampa 171, Indian River 43
TOP PERFORMERS (MEN)
- Tampa took first in the first men's event, winning the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:14.67 from Parker Knollman, Jared Mindek, Adrian Aguilar and Blake Moran.
- Freshman Jacob Hamlin claimed first in the 1,000 Free in 9:20.24. Hamlin later took the top spot in the 500 Free with a time of 4:34.53.
- A 1-2 finish for the Spartans as Santiago Corredor took first in the 200 Free with Caleb Brandon taking second place. Corredor would later champion the 200 Fly in 1:49.02.
- Tibor Tistan set a new pool record in the 50 Free with a time of 20.08. Another pool record was set by Tistan in the 100 Free for the Spartans at 44.27.
- Knollman set a new pool record in a pair of races with a times of 48.32 in the 100 Back and 1:47.62 in the 200 Back.
- A new pool record was set by Richard Polasek in the the 200 Breast with a time of 2:00.99.
- The Spartans concluded the day with a new pool record in the men's 200 Free Relay. A time of 1:19.29 came from Ian Cooper, Tistan, Brandon and Moran.
TOP PERFORMERS (WOMEN)
- UT started off the day with a first-place finish for the Spartans in the women's 400 Medley Relay. A time of 3:48.46 came from Kim McCaffrey, Katie Ramsey, Isabelle Sering and Tilde Morin.
- Laura Hodgson finished first in the 1,000 Free with a time of 10:12.96. She would then set a new pool record while winning the 500 Free with a time of 4:59.75.
- Tilde Morin was in first place in the 50 Free with a time of 24.12.
- Madysen Barnes finished first for Tampa in the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.52. Barnes would then set a new pool record in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:01.00.
- Roma Vrijhof took first place in the 100 Free for Tampa with a time of 51.83.
- After winning the opening relay, McCaffrey added another first by winning g the 200 Back in 2:03.32.
- Cameron Dukat set a new pool record with a time of 2:19.01 in the 200 Breast.
- Tampa took first place in the women's 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:35.16 from Sering, Sophie Frece, Delaney Mizell and Tilde Morin.

Tampa returns to action for the 2024 Sunshine State Conference Championships, which is scheduled for February 14-18 at the LFAST Aquatic Center in Ocala, Fla.
