NATIONAL CHAMPS: UT Men Win 2024 NCAA Swimming Championship
GENEVA, Ohio - For the first time in program history, the University of Tampa has claimed the 2024 NCAA Division II men's swimming and diving national championship. The Spartan women also turned in their sixth consecutive top-10 finish with a seventh place showing.
Tampa, led by head coach Jimi Kiner, claimed its first national title after leading with a total of 473 points. Drury fell behind the Spartans with 409 points.
Top Performers (Men)
- Freshman Jacob Hamlin took 6th in the 1,650 Free at 15:16.22 as Barnabas Fluck was 12th with a time of 15:32.68.
- Tampa had a pair of A final finishes in the men's 100 Free. Blake Moran was 5th at 43.29, while Ian Cooper finished 7th with a time of 43.44.
- Santiago Corredor and Parker Knollman went second and third respectively in the 200 Back as Corredor set a new school record at 1:41.59. Knollman was clocked at 1:41.99.
- In final individual event of 2024 NCAA Championships, Jared Mindek re-set the school record with a 1:56.31 in the 200 Back.
- Ian Cooper, Tibor Tistan, Caleb Brandon and Blake Moran raced to a 2nd place finish in the 400 Free Relay at 2:53.01.
Top Performers (Women)
- Lindsey Louder recorded a new school record in a 3rd place 200 Back finish of 1:57.72. Sierra Gillan was sixth overall as her time was 1:58.32. Sidni Meister was sixth in the B final.
- Cameron Dukat finished 6th in the 200 Breast B final, with a finals time of 2:18.96.
- Tampa finished 9th in the 400 Free Relay with time of 3:24.43 from Isabelle Sering, Tilde Morin, Sierra Gillan and Roma Vrijhof.
