Home Opener Nets Tampa Win Over Florida and Rollins
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams competed in their home opener, facing off against the University of Florida and Rollins College on Friday at the Riseman Aquatics Center. The Spartans would come away as the top team, defeating both the Gators and Tars in both the men's and women's standings.

Top Tampa Swimmers (Men's)
- Tampa won the 200 Medley Relay in the first men's event, finishing in 1:27.80 for an NCAA Division II top time this season. William Beckstead-Holman, Jared Mindek, Tibor Tistan and Caleb Brandon were the winning quartet.
- The 1,000 Free was won by Jacob Hamlin in 9:03.78. Teammate Diego Dulieu was second at 9:11.18.
- Rafael Ponce De Leon won the 200 Free after being clocked at 1:37.13. Parker Knollman (1:38.09) and Jaxson Row (1:40.05) followed as the Spartans took the top three spots.
- William Beckstead-Holman championed the 100 Back in 48.18.
- The 200 Fly included a runner-up performance time of 1:48.87 from Kenan Dean.
- Tampa took 1-2-3 in the 50 Free. Tibor Tistan won in 19.70 as Gabriel Rzezwicki (20.32) and Caleb Brandon (20.46) were the next to finish the race.
- Tibor Tistan took top honors in the 100 Free with a time of 44.52 as Caleb Brandon was second at 44.79.
- Parker Knollman's winning time of 1:46.71 in the 200 Back was followed by a time of 1:48.18 from third-place William Beckstead-Holman.
- The 200 Breast saw a second-place finish from Jared Mindek (2:01.70) as freshman Jared Allison (2:07.05) was third.
- Rafael Ponce De Leon was first in the 500 Free at 4:26.77. Jacob Hamlin (4:28.32) and Diego Dulieu (4:30.27) claimed the second and third spots.
- Kenan Dean was the winner of the 100 Fly with a time of 49.30. Ben Castro was runner-up at 49.53.
- William Beckstead-Holman took the 200 IM as his winning time was 1:50.10.
- The Spartans capped their victory with a first-place time of 1:19.77 in the 200 Free Relay from Rafael Ponce De Leon, Gabriel Rzezwicki, Tibor Tistan and Caleb Brandon.
Top Tampa Swimmers (Women's)
- The Spartans opened the meet with a first-place and NCAA Division II best time of 1:43.75 in the 200 Medley Relay. The winning team included Sidni Meister, Alicia Soderlind, Brooke Mahneke and Tilde Morin.
- Laura Hodgson was third in the 1,000 Free with a time of 10:12.48.
- Brooke Mahneke was second in the 200 Free after finishing in 1:53.58.
- Sidni Meister was second in the 100 Back with a time of 56.17 as Roma Vrijhof was next to finish, in 56.49.
- Burlingtyn Bokos was the top Tampa swimmer in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:01.88.
- In the 50 Free, Tampa took the top three spots. Tilde Morin won the race in 24.12, followed by Alicia Soderlind (24.25) and Madelyn Routhier (24.42).
- Brooke Mahneke (51.39) and Alicia Soderlind (52.51) finished second and third in the 100 Free.
- Carlie Tyler won the 200 Back with a showing of 1:59.00. She was trailed by Lindsey Louder (2:05.15) and Sierra Gillan (2:06.63).
- In the 200 Breast, Cameron Dukat was second after being timed at 2:19.29.
- Burlingtyn Bokos was third with a time of 4:58.20 in the 500 Free.
- The 100 Fly included a third-place finish from Sophie Frece with a time of 57.58.
- Carlie Tyler took her second win of the day in the 200 IM as she was clocked at 2:03.78, which also marked a new pool record.
- Tampa won the final women's race, taking the 200 Free Relay in 1:35.49 from Alicia Soderlind, Tilde Morin, Brooke Mahneke and Madelyn Routhier.
