Top-Ranked Barry Pushes Past Spartans
MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The University of Tampa tennis team played their second on the road match in a showdown at top-ranked Barry.

How it Happened:
No. 1 Barry got off to a quick start with Court 1 Alloiarova/Dema defeating Ball/Sanchez (6-3). With the doubles point still up for grabs, Barry capitalized quickly on it sealing the deal on Court 3, Haumuller/Leweurs defeating Williams/Wilberg (6-3). Although, now down a point, Miletic/Cierniak did succeed in winning their match, 6-3 against Versier/Michalitsch (BU).
Barry took over in singles with Court 3 resulting in a 6-0, 6-1 defeat for Savannah Williams. On Court 5, Kristina Miletic was defeated by Angela Leweurs in straight sets as well. On court 2, Julie Ball, after playing a great match against Dinara Alloiarova, got the only point to Tampa, with a score of 6-3, 6-4. Nicole Casas could not close her match against ranked Clara Versier, who defeated Casas in straight sets as well. On the main court, Alina Michalitsch & Victoria Sanchez fought a dog fight, where Sanchez got the second set, but Michalitsch got the third set. On court 6 Maia Haumuller was having a tough time closing out Anine Wilberg after coming back and forcing a third set. However, Haumuller regrouped in the final set and won 10-2 after a stellar performance from both players. Court 1 was the remaining match left after, Victoria Sanchez fought hard in the second set to force a third. However it was Alina Michalitsch who would be the victor.
